In 2021, Sullivan-Palatek' s first large portable low-noise air compressor (D1300RH) received the QPME Label from the EPD of Hong Kong and the Certification of "Low Noise" issued by the MLIT of Japan.
Hong Kong EPD' s QPME Label
The Quality Powered Mechanical Equipment (QPME) system was first developed in 2005 by the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) of Hong Kong. The system benchmarks construction equipment items that are notably quieter, efficient, innovative, and eco-friendly. Equipment with QPME Labels can be seen as the best in the business of construction. With its excellent performance and the characteristic of low noise, Sullivan-Palatek' s large portable air compressor (D1300RH) obtained the QPME Label in 2021.

With the features of small size and great portability, portable screw air compressor is widely used in fields that require compressed air, including mining and construction of roads, bridges, etc. Since the air compressor is usually close to the operators or the residential areas, low-noise is definitely a must.
Sullivan-Palatek emphasizes on the quietness of D1300RH. According to the test results of the Hong Kong EPD, the sound power level of D1300RH is 104dB (A), which means the average noise level is about 72dB (A). The excellent low-noise performance makes it stand out from all the other products at the same level.

Japan MLIT' s Certification of "Low Noise"
At the same time, D1300RH has also obtained the Certification of "Low Noise" issued by the MLIT of Japan. Established in 1983, this low-noise construction machinery certification system has a high reputation in Japan and is widely applied to equipment used in construction sites around residential areas, hospitals, and schools.

As the report from the MLIT of Japan shows, the average noise level of D1300RH is 72dB (A). You might wonder how quiet that means. Well, here is a data for reference—the urban street noise level is about 75dB (A). That is to say, D1300RH is even quieter than a city street. We are proud and excited about the test result.

So, How Do We Mute D1300RH?
First of all, Sullivan-Palatek' s D1300RH adopts a two-stage compression airend with high-efficiency screw rotors. Imported from the US, the male and female rotors' teeth root and top are specially processed for sealing grooves. That greatly minimizes the leakage of compressed air from high pressure chamber to the low pressure one. The design has improved the compression efficiency, ensured sufficient discharge volume and pressure, and in turn effectively reduced the noise.

The sound-absorbing cotton on the door panel, column, and the top of the chamber can not only effectively reduce the noise of the unit but also help with fire prevention.
Summary
Profession creates reputation; strength brings honor. As a self-developed large portable low-noise air compressor, Sullivan-Palatek' s D1300RH has won two honors. Undoubtedly, its performance has been highly recognized by the industry. The achievement not only means that Sullivan-Palatek' s R&D capabilities have reached a new level but also demonstrates our competence in industrial technology innovation and application. Through practical actions, Sullivan-Palatek has become a practitioner and promoter of global environmental protection.
