Sullivan-Palatek’s oil-free rotary screw compressor is a twin-rotor oil-free volumetric air compressor. It can provide customers with 100% pure compressed air to meet the strict requirements of various industries for high-purity air.

A pair of high-precision and specially-coated male and female rotors is mounted in parallel in the housing. The male rotor has four lobes and the female has six. The rotors are driven by synchronous gears, fixed by radial and axial bearings. As they turn without contact in the sealed housing which has a cooling jacket, the volume of the air is changed, leading to an increase in air pressure.
During normal operation, the male and female rotors create a closed compression chamber with the inner surface of the housing. As the volume of the chamber is continuously reduced, the pressure of the trapped air increases. Finally, the compressed air is discharged through the discharge port of the housing. After the cooling and condensate separation, the air compressed by the first-stage airend is sent to the second-stage airend. Once the similar compression process is completed, the air reaches the pressure level required for use.

The unit utilizes an independent cooling VSD asynchronous motor that offers a wide conversion range of 40%-100%. The cold and hot partition design ensures that the inverters and electronic control components can operate reliably in the low temperature area. The unique design also guarantees that the oil-free airend’s air intake is always on the low-temperature side, ensuring the efficiency and reliability of the airend. Two independent cooling centrifugal fans are equipped to the frequency converter to ensure the reliable operation.
Both the intake and discharge ports adopt a unique noise-reducing design. Both airends are equipped with specially-designed mufflers to minimize the pulsation noise of the air flow at the outlets. This allows the unit to operate quietly under various working conditions. The unit also comes with dedicated inlet filter elements which feature a large capacity and low pressure loss, helping ensure the stable operation of the unit, extend the replacement time, and provide users with a more comfortable and convenient experience.
The cooling and muffler system consists of an intercooler, discharge muffler, discharge check valve, aftercooler, and condensate separator. Sullivan-Palatek’s integrated cooler and water separator are specially-made to allow the high-temperature compressed air from the first-stage airend to be separated from water after being cooled by the intercooler and then be discharged effectively. After passing through the discharge muffler and the check valve, the high-temperature compressed air from the second-stage airend enters the aftercooler. The cooled compressed air then passes through the water separator to fully separate the condensate and enters the compressed air pipe network.
